Tajerin was launched by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) in 2017. You can start a business without a physical office space for three years and apply to more than 1,000 ADDED-approved businesses.

In addition, if you want to recruit employees for your new company with a Tajer license, you can apply for work permits for three employees.

According to ADDED, entrepreneurs with an existing license can add their e-commerce operations to their existing licenses or obtain a new license through websites and social media networks. However, this license does not only apply to online economic activities, but it can also extend to other business activities.

Any UAE resident with a UAE Pass can apply for a license, according to the ADDED Customer Happiness Center.

Which activities can I apply for?

The license includes more than 1,000 activities, from the sale of office equipment and furniture to perfumes, clothes and crystal products. How do you apply for a Tajer e-commerce license?

The site’s official application platform is TAMM, which is Abu Dhabi’s official online government platform.

Apply for a license at this link: https://www.tamm.abudhabi/en/life-events/individual/Start-a-Business/Commerce-Industry/RequestforIssuingEconomicLicenceAbuDhabiTrader and log in with UAE Pass.

You will then be asked to provide certain information about the business you wish to set up, including the following:

1. Legal type (LLC, sole trader, etc.)
2. The business you want to do
3. The trade name you want

You will then be asked to upload certain documents, which can vary greatly depending on the business and legal type you choose for your company. You may also be asked to apply for additional permits from the authorities depending on your business.

Once you have submitted the required documents, ADDED will review your application. Once approved, you will need to make the required payment, after which the financial license will be issued and available for download. You will be notified of the status of your application as it progresses through the various stages of approval.
