Gautam Adani added more wealth than anyone else in the world this year | Job Binary

Indian billionaire Gautam Adani this week replaced Bill Gates as the world’s fourth-richest person, increasing his fortune by $113 billion, surpassing the Microsoft founder by $230 million, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The Indian tycoon has added $36 billion to his fortune this year, more than anyone else, and Gates’ fortune has shrunk as he accelerates philanthropic giving and sells off tech stocks.

Bill Gates said last week that he will give $20 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation this month, as the philanthropic behemoth plans to accelerate the pace of giving. “By giving more, I hope we can ease some of the suffering and help fulfill the foundation’s vision of giving everyone the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life,” Gates said in a statement.

Gautam Adani is now fourth on the Forbes list of the world’s richest people, overtaking Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who last week said he would donate $20 billion of his fortune to non-profits. After the donation, Bill Gates dropped one place and became the fifth richest person in the world.

The fortune of the chairman of the Indian conglomerate Adani Group has more than doubled since the beginning of 2021. Infrastructure tycoon Adani bears its name and has interests in power, green energy, gas, ports and more. has shares in companies operating in the fields. Adani wants to become the world’s largest green energy producer and has said it will invest up to $70 billion in renewable energy projects.

Adani also increased its donations. He promised to donate on the occasion of his 60th birthday in June 60,000 kroner ($7.7 billion) for various social causes. The charity is managed by the Adani Foundation for Health, Education and Skills Development.

In February this year, Adani overtook compatriot Ambani to become the richest person in Asia, making him the world’s richest man this year. In April, he joined the elite club of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as a centiillionaire.
