As seen by PCGamesN (Opens in a new tab), PC Gaming’s global executive vice president, Henry Cavill, has once again gone public with the hobby. Yet more proof that at least one beautiful and successful person likes the same things we do!
Cavill appeared in Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused (Opens in a new tab) podcast on October 26, in an interview that focused on his return as Superman (Opens in a new tab). Which is really good, it has PC games bit, from about 36 minutes to 38:30.
“How long do you have for your gaming life? Horowitz asks the Witcher star.
Cavill digresses a bit, before settling on “a lot”, explaining: “When I say ‘a lot’, that probably means ‘a lot’ to non-gamers.”
– Just four hours a day? Horowitz jokes.
“Errr… Maybe more.” Cavill answers.
We’ve all been there. The actor revealed that he is playing Total War: Warhammer 3 (Opens in a new tab)The last entry in a series that was honored (Opens in a new tab) with an in-game unit. Cavill also mentions that while most of the people in his life are supportive of his hobbies, he has received hurtful responses from acquaintances when showing off his miniatures collection. After Cavill briefly touches on the Wrath of the Lich King Classic promotional statue he recently received from Blizzard, Horowitz asks if he has any interest in game development.
“I don’t know,” answered the actor. “I think there’s a lot of work in them, and I’m not sure I want to look too far behind the curtain and see all the ones and zeroes.”
Measured response, but I have to disagree. Making a game is easy: you only need to make good levels, discard bad ones and remember to put graphics.
So development is out, but Cavill didn’t necessarily rule out voice acting. If this is a good timeline, maybe we’ll upgrade to Owlcat Games’ Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. (Opens in a new tab). Unfortunately, he probably has his hands full with Witchering and super shenanigans.
