Word of the problem originally came from Beenox, the lead studio behind the PC version of Modern Warfare 2. “We’ve noticed some stability issues in Call of Duty #MWII with the latest NVIDIA 526.47 drivers,” the studio. he tweeted. “We recommend you keep the 516.59 or 522.25 drivers for now.

Nvidia later confirmed a problem in an email to PC Gamer. “Yes, there is a bug for this game and we are working on a fix,” wrote a representative. “This is precisely why our latest Game Ready Driver was not promoted or recommended for this title in the first place.”
Ironically, several people post about their problems on Reddit (Opens in a new tab) say they have updated to latest drivers to fix crash issues. One Redditor, for example, describes Steam taking a long download after a crash (Opens in a new tab) before allowing the game to restart (even though nothing is downloading), a problem I’ve had myself a few times. Updating your graphics drivers is a standard first step in troubleshooting, but in this case it seems to make the problem worse.
Nvidia hasn’t given a timeframe for when the heat will be available, but the current Game Ready Driver is still listed as 526.47 — which is broken — so for now it’s best to stick with what you’ve got, even if it’s a bit of a bummer.
