The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) recently concluded its Visit Abu Dhabi Roadshow in India with 28 stakeholders from the UAE capital, including major airlines, cruise lines, hotels, attractions and DMCs. More than 800 tourism industry delegates attended the roadshow across six events in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore to learn about the unique and diverse experiences that Abu Dhabi offers to Indian travelers, while paving the way for long-term partnerships in the industry.

The successful events showcased the emirate as a leading tourism destination for leisure, business and incentive travel by organizing briefings, presentations and a demonstration of the cultural experience of perfume making. This was followed by exclusive networking dinners attended by key industry professionals and buyers. They were held at The Oberoi (New Delhi), ITC Gardenia, Luxury Collection Hotel (Bangalore) and Four Seasons (Mumbai).

During the week-long schedule of events, DCT Abu Dhabi showcased key destination highlights to help industry professionals familiarize themselves with the destination’s many exciting experiences, including Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment destination, Yas Island, home to the award-winning theme parks such as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. DCT Abu Dhabi stakeholders also spoke to key partners about the schedule of new developments and exciting events set to take place across the UAE capital, including the debut of the Broadway musical The Lion King, the UAE’s first NBA games, UFC 281. , and a performance by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman as part of the Diwali celebrations.

Hosted by DCT Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB) in association with Experience Hub, the event is now held annually, reflecting the importance of the Indian market to Abu Dhabi’s outbound tourism strategy.

India continues to be one of the most important overseas markets for the emirate and one of the largest source markets for MICE tourism in Abu Dhabi. The purpose of our visit this month was to support our valued stakeholders, raise awareness of the destination, meet with our target companies and leading MICE agencies, and introduce our enhanced Advantage Abu Dhabi Meetings & Incentives program and our new MICE Agency Reward system, which aims to enable us to continue to differentiate ourselves in the region.

The Visit Abu Dhabi Roadshow held more than 7,000 individual meetings across three cities. All participants were also offered the chance to win 20 holiday packages to Abu Dhabi.
