If you’re having trouble telling them apart, Silent Hill Townfall Stories is a new Silent Hill game developed by Untold studio No Code and published by Annapurna Interactive. Not the remake of Silent Hill 2 or the prequel set in Japan called Silent Hill F. When Townfall was announced during Konami’s Silent Hill broadcast, creative director Jon McKellan said, “It’s a real honor for us to bring a new title to this series. It respects the source material, but also does something different with it.”
He concluded by saying: “So obviously the teaser trailer is just the beginning, we can’t show you more, […] it might be worth watching that trailer again, and see what might have been missed.” The internet took that as a challenge, and has already discovered some of the secrets buried within.
Most notably, Redditor u/MilkManEX (Opens in a new tab) downloaded the trailer’s audio as an m4a file, took a look at his spectrograph in Audacity, and found the text that read: “ANY HEART THAT STOPS THIS TOWN. (Opens in a new tab)“.
After pausing the glowing images playing on the pocket TV, the text “YOUR FLESH IS WEAK” was also revealed, as well as three dots, three dashes and three dots: Morse code for SOS That’s not the only code fans have discovered. When the developer No Code tweeted an image of a house (Opens in a new tab)and the publisher Annapurna Interactive tweeted a similar image (Opens in a new tab), it was obvious that they were not the same images. that’s why @yApth0 (Opens in a new tab) took one apart and found more Morse code, which was “I DON’T KNOW HOW TO LEAVE.”
Fear. Other things collected by the Silent Hill subreddit may be longer, especially when they seem to refer to previous games in the series. For example, at 33 seconds into the trailer when parts of a map are displayed, someone seems to say, “Is that really Alessa? (Opens in a new tab)” referring to the character from the first game. But the actual audio is fuzzy, and probably mind blowing.
As is the theory (Opens in a new tab) The figure seen at 45 seconds is Valtiel, first seen in Silent Hill 3. The idea that the other creature seen to the side around 49 seconds could be a reclining figure from Silent Hill 2 is a little more plausible, given that it shares the awkwardness. , mixing attitude and bodybag-plastic shine.
As McKellan points out, Townfall “respects the source material, but also does something different with it” so we probably shouldn’t expect too many direct callbacks to the original fan-favorite Silent Hill games. The narrator of the teaser, interviewing someone to find out why he is in Silent Hill, initially accepts the answer that he is about to receive punishment; therefore, most of the main characters in Silent Hill 2 are lured to a destination that will not achieve a high score. Tripadvisor, but then says there’s probably more to it than that. Maybe that’s true of Townfall itself? Considering how Silent Hill 2’s iconography was overused in later games, I think that’s a good thing.
If someone could collect all the map pieces and find out where they are from, that would be it.
