The Hawks defeated the Bucks in a thrilling NBA debut in Abu Dhabi | Job Binary


The Atlanta Hawks drew first blood against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first of two NBA Abu Dhabi games in front of a sellout crowd of 18,000 at Etihad Arena on Thursday.

Dejounte Murray (25), Trae Young (22) and De’Andre Hunter (17) scored most of the goals for the Hawks, who won 123-113 in the first NBA game in Abu Dhabi.

The Bucks started well and led by a point in the first quarter before the Hawks got their act together and cemented their superiority as the match wore on with a fine defensive performance.

The Hawks took a 71-67 lead into the second half, with Young leading the scoring with 16 and two assists.

The third quarter began the same way as the Hawks continued to pile on the points, stretching their lead to 14 points at one point and gradually taking control of the game with a 101-94 lead at the end of the third quarter.

However, the Bucks fought back to narrow the gap to three points before the Hawks regained control at 111-102 and forced their opponents into overtime.

However, the Hawks maintained their strong play in the remaining period to run out deserved winners.

In his first year with the Hawks, Murray led the scoring with nine assists and eight rebounds in just over 30 minutes of play.

The teams will play again at the Etihad Arena on Saturday night.
