The New Miss Universe Thailand, 23-year-old Anna Suengam-iam, was born into a family of garbage collectors.
She was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2022 at the pageant finale last night (Saturday). She will represent Thailand in Miss Universe 2022.
She later told Thai media that both of her parents worked as Bangkok Metropolitan Administration garbage collectors and that most of her toys as a child were salvaged from the garbage her parents recycled.
He said he did not have the chance to play like other children, because his parents always left home at 3am to work and returned home at 7pm to sleep.
The only time he had the chance to leave the house was to ride the garbage truck with his father.
Anna was adopted by her grandmother, because her parents did not have time to take care of her, and they grew up on food from gifts given to the monks by members of the public.
During his childhood and teenage years, he said that he had received Buddhist teachings from his grandmother and has adopted them throughout his life.
Before entering Miss Universe Thailand 2022, she competed in a number of beauty pageants and won some. Her dream, she said, is to compete in Miss Universe Thailand.
After being crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2022, she told the media that the event has taught her that anyone can succeed, regardless of their beginnings, if they have a dream and pursue that dream with self-confidence.
He said he would like his story to be an inspiration to others who are poor or believe they have no future. They should not lose hope, but try to dream and try to fulfill that dream, as you have. Most importantly, he emphasized the need to study hard.
Anna graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with first class honors from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of Kasetsart University.
