Gamers are very excited about God of War Ragnarök, the sequel to the 2018 reboot. The game is known as a PlayStation exclusive, but is it coming to PC? Now there are the first hints that it could get a port.
God of War Ragnarok It’s getting closer and closer to release on November 9th. I, like many fans, can’t wait to see how the story of Kratos and his son Atreus continues after the excellent 2018 reboot. This is the best way to play this game. probably on PC, although everyone knows that God of War is a PlayStation exclusive series. But the port was really great and made a wonderful game even better.
What about GoW Ragnarok? Will the sequel also come to PC? The first hints of a possible PC version have surfaced, including an interview with series creator Cory Barlog and a sweet hint from one of the developers.
God of War Ragnarök: PC version has not been confirmed yet
The answer is simple, but complicated: God of War Ragnarök is probably coming to PC, but there’s no guarantee as a port hasn’t been announced yet. We’ll explain why that’s probably the case in a minute. But let’s first take a look at what has been said publicly and what else it indicates towards a possible PC release. Cory Barlog, co-creator of the series and director of the 2018 reboot, was asked about a PC version of Ragnarök in an interview. Game Informer. And he was very honest.
I do not know. Right now, we’re taking it one game at a time, kind of looking at each one and deciding, “OK, is this the best one?” And we will measure how it is. Do people enjoy it? Did we do it right? Is there something we did wrong? What can we do better if we do this again in the future? But at the end of the day, it’s Sony’s decision.
Now, obviously, this is not very encouraging. However, we believe that God of War Ragnarök will come to PC. Why? First things first: Since Sony is still bringing all of its major titles to PC, it takes a while. We’ve already got Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone, the latest spider man and also The Last of Us remake is coming to PC. Of course, the first God of War game also came to PC and was a huge hit. We assume Sony will do the same with the sequel. Why wouldn’t they?
But we also recently got another more specific suggestion for a PC version. This comes from Jetpack Interactive, which was the main development studio for the PC version of God of War (2018). Their updated LinkedIn page, it says they are “continuing to work with Sony Santa Monica on the God of War franchise.” This suggests that quite clearly Jetpack will also be making a PC version for Ragnarök.
Ragnarök has already created controversy before its release…
Of course, this is just speculation until we get official confirmation of a PC port. But as we said, this may take some time. God of War (2018) and Marvel’s Spider-Man took a whopping four years to reach PC, Horizon took three and so on. At least The Last of Us Part 1 will be out a little faster than that. But you should still be prepared to wait a bit…
